MGB - Valve Cover Gasket for 1980 MGB roadster or other MGB cars

How to stop your MGB valve cover from leaking.
This video addresses the issue of the familiar oil drippings from the poorly sealed valve cover. The slightest leak seems to flow forever -- over the distributor, the engine block and the floor. Somehow it finds the engine heat, or exhaust -- and then it really starts to stink. Close examination will discover some problems. Sometimes the gasket is poorly postured -- misaligned at assembly. Other times the gasket hasn't been adhered with proper mastic. And sometimes the bolts need a little twist to tighten up. Certainly there is little forgiveness in aligning the cover gasket to the limited engine surface. And only two bolts are available for a snug draw down and dry seal. We'll cover these issues as we describe how to properly seal the valve cover to stop the leaks. Well, not for a while anyway. Remember, we're talking about MGBs....and they have a habit of dripping a tell tale trail of oil spots. So, here's a way to stop a few. As with our other MGB videos, comments and suggestions - we present our personal MGB repairs solely for your reference, assistance and extended pleasure of owning and driving an MGB. We hope our tips are helpful.
